Dutch tourist sentenced to 3 months for insulting religion in Myanmar

Dutch Tourist Sentenced Myanmar

A 30 year old Dutch tourist has been charged in Myanmar for religous insulting. The man walked into a Buddhist temple while wearing shoes and disconnected the amplifier at a Buddhist celebration because he heard it loudly from his hotel. After his deed angry villagers chased him and soldiers had to protect him. He was sentenced to 3 months jail and had to pay a fine to prevent another 6 months imprisonment…

The man apologized for his actions, but despite that he won’t evade the punishment for his deeds.
It definitely had a deep impact within the community.

Also his girlfriend wasn’t very happy about it…
